Black winged stilt

The Black-winged Stilt is a striking wading bird found in various parts of the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. It is easily recognizable by its long, slender legs, which are often described as “stilt-like,” hence its name. These legs are typically pinkish-red and are much longer in proportion to its body compared to most other birds, allowing it to wade through deeper waters in search of food.

Black-winged Stilts are found in a variety of wetland habitats, including salt pans, estuaries, marshes, and shallow lakes. They are often seen in both inland and coastal areas, favoring environments with shallow water where they can easily forage.
